We are excited to announce details for our 2020 rodeo, planned for Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 5pm. The rodeo this year is a military appreciation event, with free entry for veterans and active-duty servicemen and women. We have many exciting things planned for the event, including a revamped and educational petting zoo, an inaugural award and scholarship fund, and opportunities to recognize and thank our servicemen and women during the day’s events!
With this military appreciation theme, we are excited to announce that we are going to establish a new award – the “Manatee Cattlemen’s Patriot Award” which will be given to a MCCA member who has served or is currently serving. As this is the first year of the award, we want your help! Click the button below to download the nomination form!
We encourage you to nominate anyone you might know that is a great candidate for recognition – we know that our military heroes do NOT serve for the recognition, but we also feel a duty to thank them and show them how much their service means.
If the person you would like to nominate has passed on, please make a note of that in the form, so we can make sure to recognize all applicants properly. We are planning to recognize the award recipient during the event if possible, so we’d like to know if this person or their family will be in attendance.
With this award, we will also be establishing the “Manatee Cattlemen’s Patriot Scholarship Fund” in recognition of the award recipient for that particular year, and the scholarship fund will be given to a youth member who is planning to enlist in the armed forces or planning military service. We will be working on guidelines and an application for this as we move forward.

The Manatee County Cattlemen’s Association ranch rodeo is a qualifier for the state finals held in September 2020, and event proceeds are used to provide scholarships for the Junior Manatee Cattlemen’s Association, along with awards and scholarships for local FFA and 4-H chapter members.
